My Dream Next Home

Right now my husband and I live in a basement apartment. It has been great (or we are just too lazy to move) and we have been here for two and a half years. When we do move out of this place we hope to move into a HOUSE with a MORTGAGE. Yeah, exciting stuff.
Here is what I want in my house.
General
  • higher ceilings--> mainly for the hubby :) Higher ceilings also mean we will be living above ground which will be great
  • room to grow--> it is just the two of us right now but we are hoping we will have room for family (our own and extended)
Kitchen
  • two sinks in the kitchen--> not sinks in different areas of the kitchen but a sink with two compartments.
  • counter space--> our sink and our counter are the same size. Kind of annoying. We can fit a dish drainer and then fit dirty dishes on the rest of the counter. My worry with having more counter space is that we'll just keep more crap out more often.
  • dishwasher--> mainly because I have dish detergent from when I was single that I want to use up
Bedroom
  • more space--> the bedroom we have now is fine but because our whole apartment is small we have been keeping kitchen stuff in our bedroom. Plus we have a closet that sticks out that we have to walk around. I don't want a HUGE bedroom but one where we can put in the dresser we've inherited from Steve's aunt.
 Living Room
  • bigger--> we have a piano, a loveseat, a larger entertainment center (which I got for free!)... but I really want to also fit our computer (I am determined to go down to one computer) in the living room.
Laundry Room
  • Thanks to Pinterest, I have a good idea of what I want the laundry room to be like. The biggest thing is just having a place to do our laundry whenever we want without having to switch days with the people upstairs.

Also, we were given new pots and pans as a wedding gift as well as eating utensils. We haven't used them  yet because we want to save them for our HOUSE to symbolize moving on with life. Also, this means we can get rid of the pots and pans we have now :)
