Today is our second anniversary! We had an anniversary weekend celebration in Salt Lake City. On Friday we drove down to SLC, checked in to our hotel, and then went to Charlie Chow's Dragon Grill. That was a fun place to eat. It was like Mongolian Grill but you could go up to the grill multiple times and try different combinations of meats, noodles, vegetables, fruit, and sauces. After dinner we found our way to Temple Square. The traffic around there was INSANE! We should have expected it but it was still crazy. The strangest part was the pedestrians. When the cars had the green light to go they could not because pedestrians kept crossing and crossing. By the time the light turned red, more pedestrians would be ready to cross and the cycle would repeat. We were finally able to find a parking spot and toured Temple Square. Our cameras were acting up so we were not able to get as many pictures as I would have liked. This is the first time we have seen the lights at Temple Square together, which is lame considering we have been here for three years. There are many other things we would like to do while in Utah. After Temple Square we went back to the hotel and turned the heat up (no really, we cranked the heat up as a special treat) and watched TV. Steve woke me up for scripture study and prayers and then we went back to sleep.
The next morning, Steve woke up early for first dibs at breakfast and brought me a bagel, orange juice, a pastry, and yogurt. We were packed up and on our way back to Provo by 11:45am (Steve is funny and insisted we check out before the check out time). We stopped at IKEA and looked around there before deciding to go eat at Tucanos in Provo. That did not happen because they had a two hour wait so we went to Golden Corral instead. After stuffing ourselves full of food we went back home and took a nap. And that was how we celebrated our second anniversary.
Today (Sunday), Steve made lasagna for us in a crock pot and we went to sacrament. It was delicious!!!
Tomorrow Steve is going in for a minor procedure (he has another nasty cyst) and I will be starting my NEW JOB!!! I am very nervous mainly because it is something new. But I am really looking forward to it. This also means that I will be only be taking one class during Winter Semester 2012. Another exciting thing that will be happening this year is that Steve and I will be meeting with the Temple President to see about us becoming Temple Workers. We were asked at the beginning of Fall Semester but we felt like we should make some changes in our lives before accepting this wonderful opportunity. There are still many areas we need to become better at but we enjoy the progress we have made so far.
